It is common knowledge that commercial aviation is the safest form of travel and one of the highest regulated industries in the world. Modern aircraft use the best technology and designed with the most advanced safety equipment available but sometimes things just do not go as planned. Recently, a JetBlue flight arriving at JFK from Barbados suddenly tipped backwards while people were deplaning and baggage was being removed from the storage area down below. Apparently the shift in weight was too quick and the aircraft tilted back and the tail touched the ground. There were no injuries but apparently the remaining passengers on board were terrified.
