Although recreational boating has it share of risks, modern water craft include many safety measures and equipment to minimize the more common hazards that might occur. Boaters can prepare for the worst but sometimes, no matter how preparation takes place, things just do not go as planned. Recently, a sailing vessel that was safely anchored in an inlet off the shores of Olympia, Washington was mistaken as a rock by two very large sea lions.
